Program Objective

Upon completion of the Home Health Aide program, graduates will possess the basic skills and knowledge to become employed as an entry level Home Health Aide, working for Home Health Agencies, and Hospice Care.

Requirements for Application

Applicants for the Facial Specialist program must meet the following admission requirements:

Must be 18 years old by the time of graduation from the program.
- If under 18, applicant must complete the admissions process with a parent or guardian.
Proof of high school graduation

copy of a high school diploma, high school transcripts, or General Education Diploma (GED)
Proof must list the date of graduation
Diplomas from outside the United States must be translated and evaluated to show equivalency of high school diplomas.

Program Description

Students of the Home Health Aide program will learn to perform duties which include providing physical comfort and care for patients, nutrition, and other sustaining services for home health care recipients. The students will have to complete laboratory hours; practice, demonstrate and perform procedures associated with bedside client care.

Requirements for Graduation

To graduate from the Home Health Aide program, students must:

Complete a total of 80 hours of theory and clinical practice.
Passing all courses with 75% (C) or more.
Meeting all financial obligations with the school.

Upon completion of the program the student will receive a diploma

DISCLOSURE: Students may begin working in their field of training as soon as a diploma is received.

COURSE OUTLINE

HAE 100 – HIV/AIDS

This course is designed to provide the necessary information concerning HIV/AIDS and the medical worker. Students will learn the history of HIV/AIDS, procedures and protocols required for caring for HIV/AIDS patients, the pathology of the disease and the expectations, objectives of clinical management that is standard for HIV/AIDS patients.

HHA 101 – Verbal & Written Communications

4 Theory Hours / 2 Lab Hours / 0 Externship Hours / 6 Total Hours / Prerequisites: None

This course is designed to enhance verbal and written communication skills. Students engaged in this course will learn basic sentence structure and grammar, for the purpose of developing the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the healthcare setting. Verbal communications will be developed through oral presentation and word enunciation.

HHA 108 – Home Health Aide Care

5 Theory Hours / 7 Lab Hours / 0 Externship Hours / 12 Total Hours / Prerequisites: None

Students will become oriented as to the purpose and history of home health care. Students will learn about the medical workers involved in home health care and the role of the home health aide in the home health setting. Students will practice patient care skills and administrative skills involved in home health care.
